MATH REVIEW TIME!

SINCE WE ARE REVIEWING MATH CONCEPTS, VOCABULARY AND SUCH FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS, PLEASE REFER TO THE MATH REVIEW LINK ON THE MAIN PAGE OF THIS WEBSITE FOR HOMEWORK ASSIGNED BETWEEN NOW AND MAY 20TH! 

 

 

 

For the past month, we have been working on the poetry project. The only homework this week (week of April 7 - 11) is to get in any late elements of your poetry project. See the list of homework below, check out the guides attached as files on this page. If you have questions, email Ms. Quirk at mquirk@napsk12.org or as me about it in class.

 

Poetry Project!!

3/18: Read, read, read - as many poems as you can (at least six!), and select at least THREE favorites that will be a part of your display!

3/19: Finish reading articles about your poet & fill in notes page with biographical information

3/20: Write a short biography of the poet you selected, using the outline in your poetry packet. Remember to use the notes page you created for homework last night!

3/24: BIOGRAPHY OF YOUR POET DUE TODAY! Tonight's homework: Write your own poem!

3/25: Finish revising and editing your poem - due tomorrow!

3/26: YOUR ORIGINAL POEM DUE TODAY! Homework: Study for tomorrow's vocabulary quest

3/27: VOCABULARY QUEST TODAY IN CLASS! Homework: Begin learning a poem by heart. This is due on April 2nd!

3/28: Revise and edit poem, making changes suggested by Ms. Quirk; continue practicing the poem you're learning by heart.

3/31: ELA MCAS TODAY; continue practicing learning your poem by heart

4/1: ELA MCAS TODAY; continue learning your poem by heart - DUE TOMORROW!

4/2: Vocabulary Quests are returned today; make corrections and return to me tomorrow

4/3: Work on PowerPoint - due tomorrow

4/4: No HW unless you missed previous assignments. Bring in supplies to make your display board on Monday

4/7: Display boards - putting it together. We'll start this in class; you can continue to work on this at home. Your PowerPoint should be done, and your display board should be nearly done!

4/8: Working on display boards, PowerPoint, learning poem by heart, written biography of your poet, etc.

4/9: ALL ITEMS DUE:

  • POWERPOINT WITH SOUND
  • ORIGINAL POEM WRITTEN BY YOU
  • DISPLAY BOARD WITH:
    • THREE POEMS
    • YOUR POEM
    • BIOGRAPHY (that you wrote) OF YOUR SELECTED POET!
